Se.Ruang – Living Together in One Shared Space

The nomenclature Se.Ruang combines the Malay words Se (together) and Ruang (space), reflecting the project’s core idea of creating a home that goes beyond individual units to foster shared living and community connection.

From the beginning, we asked ourselves how architecture could encourage togetherness in a natural way. Instead of designing a single monolithic block, the building is shaped to feel more open and porous. This allows for better cross-ventilation, visual openness, and improved comfort within our tropical climate.

At the macro planning level, strong emphasis was placed on the in-between spaces — corridors, lobbies, and circulation areas. Rather than treating them as purely functional zones, they are designed as active social spaces where everyday interactions can take place, extending the sense of home beyond the private unit.

Within each unit, layouts are carefully planned for daily comfort and spatial efficiency. The optimized internal footprints encourage residents to engage with the wider development, while shared amenities act as natural extensions of living spaces. Together, these elements create a vibrant micro-community, embedding the idea of togetherness directly into the architecture itself.
